A 'Lost and Found' Birthday Card

Yesterday, when I was clearing up the 'old stocks' in my bedroom, I found this...a card which given by my younger sister, Sharon ( her previous name was Randy, but  the name was not so feminine, thus, she changed it in the IC when she was twelve ). I really have forgotten in which year she gave me this lovely card. It must be when she was very small coz from her handwriting, I was able to assume that. The content was so innocently sincere and touching. It was a source of 'PURE' energy to me, really. I enjoyed seeing the birthday song she wrote, especially the third line with the wrongly written 'you' that she replaced it with my name. And that was not enough...so, she added some chinese characters ( tell you she is not chinese educated, so you should salute her...hehe ) to wish me "Happy Birthday" and of course, there was also an English version written. I smiled and giggled from the bottom of my heart when I saw the little pictures she had drawn specially for me on that card ( I know that I will still smile and giggle the same way whenever I look at those little pics again in the future or whenever those little things appear on my mind ), there was a heart with an arrow, a ribbon, my birthday cake with three candles on it, a 'BIG' present that had been nicely wrapped and a plate and fork as well...mmmmm, so considerate :-) There were so many sweet little messages on that card and they were the whispers of a little sister's heart...
Now, this 'little sister' of mine has already grown up and is a loving mom herself to a little baby girl :-)

Just watched the Disney- 'Enchanted', the story and characters are sweet except the evil queen; and the sweetest of all should be the little chipmunk...hahaha!

I enjoy watching this video clip, it's fun and relaxing! The video is about the behind scenes of the 'Titanic' by James Cameron. In year 1998, when I first went to watch "Titanic", I really had no idea what the movie was all about and I didn't know about the actor and actress at all ( during the early screening, the movie became a hit later ). No famous actor and actress, ahah...so, I was saying to myself, " Better don't put so high expectation on this show". After watching it, frankly I was speechless and I did shed my tears ( pai seh pai seh, keke ). And...later, I started to see all types of comments about "Titanic" everywhere. While in my working place, I heard one of my male colleagues which used to be 'not so romantic' in many people's eyes told my another male colleague, " I am going to watch the movie again with my girlfriend tonight", :-) wow! Just don't underestimate the power of "Titanic", friends! For some who love the movie would say "Wow, I love it, it's so sad and touching..." and while for some who dislike the movie would say that it's childish ( probably referring to the love between Jack and Rose). Come on my dear friends, the time setting is in the 1912, what seems to be childish to us nowadays might not be the same case in 1912.
When the 'Titanic' was as hot as a pancake in the late 90s, there was a group of people who were so eager to compare "Titanic" with "Gone With The Wind" and the result was they preferred the latter due to the reason that the latter has a maturer version of a love story. Well, I probably think both of the movies have their own values. What makes the difference here is the "Gone With The Wind" is a movie made in the late 30s adapted from the 1936 Margaret Mitchell's novel, the plot is surrounding the period of civil war while the "Titanic" is a product of the late 90s written and directed by James Cameron, the plot is surrounding a young couple where both of them are from different social classes who fall in love while they are on the ill-fated RMS Titanic. In other words, both of the movies are not to be compared but to be enjoyed by the audiences who are 'clicked' to them respectively. Perhaps, in a decade later, if there will be a similar successful film like 'Gone With The Wind' and 'Titanic', people will again make the similar comparison.
Anyhow, no matter what the comments from all over the world would be, 'Titanic' did successfully hit the box office is already a fact, won many Oscar awards and was being shown in most of the cinema in Malaysia not for few weeks but a few months. Yeah, a few months! Honestly, I had never seen this situation before. The movie was really a success that we can't deny in spite of that many trying to argue on a few of the weaknesses in the movie such as the nude portrait of Rose which being discovered after many years being kept in a safe box at the bottom of the ocean, the lastingness of the drawing does make many wonder and also the icy hair of Jack and Rose while they are waiting for rescuer as due to some's opinions, based on the sea temperature, it is impossible for Jack and Rose to have icy hair while as for others, many of them just don't bother much on how true are the scientific facts mentioned, as long as they enjoy the movie and when the show ends, their hearts whisper, "Wow, this is worth-watching!".

Walking In The Rain by Chyi

I like the lyrics and listening to the song is just like listening to a story...

(Music & Lyrics: Mac Davis - 1972)

On the quiet street in the city, a little old man walked alone

Shuffling through the autumn afternoon and the autumn leaves reminded him

Another summer's come and gone, he had long lonely nights ahead waiting for June

Then among the leaves near an orphan's home, a piece of paper caught his eyes

And he stooped to pick it up with trembling hands as he read the childish writing

The old man began to cry cause the words burned inside him like a brand

"Whoever finds this, I love you

Whoever finds this, I need you

I ain't even got no one to talk to

So, whoever finds this, I love you!"

Well, the old man's eyes searched the orphan's home and came to rest upon a child

With her nose pressed up against the window pane and the old man knew he'd found a friend at last

So he waved at her and smiled

And they both knew they'd spend the winter

Laughing at the rain and they did spend the winter laughing at the rain

Talking through the fence exchanging little gifts they've made for each other

The old man would carve toys and the little girl would draw pictures of beautiful ladies for him

And they laughed a lot but then one day on the first of June

The little girl ran to the fence... the old man wasn't there

And, somehow she knew he was never coming back so she went back to her little room took a crayon,

And wrote

"Whoever finds this, I love you

Whoever finds this, I need you

I ain't even got no one to talk to

So, whoever finds this, I love you!

C'est La Vie

C'est La Vie, a french verse means 'that's life'.

God doesn't grant us power to foresee the future but God does give every human a chance to appreciate the present... Very unfortunate, not everyone would understand the real way to appreciate...

Roots OR Freedom

Just came across an article in the internet, it is about the life of an Iranian lady in Iran and how she compares Iran, her homeland with France, the country that she loves so much and living in currently. Her name is Setareh Sabety, a PhD candidate in Boston University. What she wrote in the article is really touching and something new to me, frankly. Just wish to share this article with those who are interested to know more about this lady and the expensive journey which she has gone through.

A Moment Of Blissfulness

A lady would only eat durian
When she loves it
A lady would only invite you
When she truly wish to
A lady would appreciate a guy
When he makes her feel special
A lady would only want a guy
When the guy makes her look beautiful
A lady would only look beautiful
When she smiles from the bottom of the heart
and giggles like nothing in the world
could stop her from doing so...

譚詠麟 - 幻影 {電影〔陰陽錯〕主題曲}

Watched it when I was still in primary. The song was a hit at that time...

Infernal Affairs Music Video

The plot of this movie is good and the theme is so cool...

Notting Hill T Shirt scene

Finally found this scene...about Hugh Grant's housemate...damn funny, lolz

Notting Hill ( ending )

This is a romance comedy with a lovely ending. Like to see the smile of Julia Roberts... Besides, some of the characters in this movie are so cute and funny...especially Hugh Grant's housemate...keke. The song is awesome...Alas, couldn't find the clip that comes with English subtitle and lyric display...

Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warns - Up Where We Belong

Finally, I found the almost perfect version of what An Officer and A Gentleman's clip should be. A million thanks to the clip's maker.

Legends Of The Fall Music Video

Although the music used is not the original theme of the movie but the maker of this clip has cleverly used a very matching one to replace the original theme in this video clip...the result is surprisingly good.

The Way We Were - came across each other years later

Like this part of the movie...Although pretty sorry for Hubbel and Katie but I think the ending is something brilliant to tell what true 'love' can really be...

THE WAY WE WERE (Song lyrics)

Memories

Like the corners of my mind

Misty water color memories

Of the way we were

Scattered pictures

Of the smiles we left behind

Smiles we gave to one another

For the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then?

Or has time rewritten every line?

If we had the chance to do it all again

Tell me - would we? Could we?

Memories

May be beautiful and yet

What's too painful to remember

We simply choose to forget

So it's the laughter we will remember

whenever we remember

the way we were

The way we were...

I will survive - Gloria Gaynor

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcomed anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as I know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

Mom...

Tuesday 28 August 2007

Already 5 years passed by since the day my mom died... Today, I went to the temple to pray for my mom as it is her '5th death anniversary' according to the chinese lunar calendar. So, normally after praying, I will go and burn the golden paper ingots and mantra printed papers for my mom...( it is a tao+buddhism practice which is still practised by most Chinese around the world ) and today as usual...it was about 11.50am, was quite a sunny day, the weather was calm but not windy...but then, when I was burning those golden paper ingots and mantra papers...a sudden gust of wind blew by...Just wondered was that my mom? :-) Luv you, mummy...
my mom and I :-)

A true respect of religion is when it is being accepted willingly and not by force,
A human's right only exists when one is being trusted in making decision on the religion preferred...not by force,
But should by one's precious conscience and priceless wisdom,
No one is truely superb than others,
A true civilization of mind only exists when one could place the priority on other's right in making personal decision without affected by egocentric factors...
The wise ones, please always be fair and just...
With that only the innocent ones could reach the ray of hopes...

"Beauty is skin deep" , "Beauty is skin deep"
The world is changing,
but the beauty is still skin deep,
The people are changing,
"Beauty is skin deep", "Beauty is skin deep"
Since when has become the weapon of hidden jealousy,
Since when, since when...
"Beauty is skin deep", "Beauty is skin deep"
Become the root of hidden jealousy,
Since when, since when...
Skin deep, skin deep no longer bringing people beauty...

Today is a public holiday...a moment of freedom becomes something pretty priceless to me...:-P
John Barry's "Somewhere in time" in piano solo has been my best companion since this morning...And then, found a good piano player for that great music...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqddz603r40 and of course, the MP3 I have saved in my hard disk is still the best...keke
Friday 10 August 2007

Finally, comes the weekend...hooh!! Nothing much on my mind tonight...as silent as the clock has stopped ticking for a while at the wee hours...Then, saw the 'Alburquerque' on the web stuff...yeah...the Alfonso de Alburquerque who we used to know from our history text. Just remember a funny scene of myself in the classroom during my schooling time where I had been asked to read a short text by the history teacher about Alburquerque...and the whole class burst out laughing when the 'Al-bu-quack-quack' came out from my mouth. Until today, the 'Al-bu-quack-quack' incident still making my heart giggles...keke.

By the way, got a beautiful scene recently...although it is not something 'world class' and totally not qualified as a professional product but the real beauty just lies at 'the surprise out of a simple expectation'... coz was using my brother's super lousy digital camera to snap the photo just because gotta hand up some pics to my lecturer urgently.

Today, just by chance passed-by Jalan Jawa in Seremban where my late father had grown up. Long time haven't been here since my paternal granny shifted out from that old house many years ago. While passing by the houses, was deeply touched by the familiar smell came from the houses. Maybe just missed my dad. Although I was not being brought up here but the smell really brought back some of my childhood memory. What I know is the houses are really old, if not mistaken they were built in the 30s. My paternal grandfather was a fishmonger, life was difficult then especially with twelve children and thus my father always would have to go out and help while studying in the St. Paul Institution in Seremban ( he also worked part time at other places ). The houses probably would be demolished in the coming few years.

Just feel that maybe one day I would miss this....when it is nowhere to be found again.

From far far away can see the historical church of Seremban standing proudly and handsomely there witnessing the 'ups and downs', 'come and go' and 'old and new'.

Something nice to be remembered.

Last Friday, reached my campus very early, 20 minutes to my first lecture of the day. So, went to get something for my breakfast and was so lucky that my favourite 'nest' was not being occupied. Resting at my favourite temporary 'nest' while enjoying my breakfast and viewing the scene opposite me was really 'a peace of mind'. A peaceful whisper indeed....

Wednesday 18 July 2007

Last night, while checking mails, got something pretty funny from a young friend. She sent me some of these....actually there were a lot more but I just picked four which were the funniest to me. I have never known that women can be symbolized by "shell" and men's symbol is chilli. Supposing the creator of the "chilli and shell" is Leonardo da Vinci's next life. As for the forth pic which shows a bolt and a nut, just have no idea which one is for "men" and which one is for "women". The nut should be for "women" I guess...keke. I have personally named the first pic as "Artistic World", the second pic as "Love at First Sight", the third pic as "Food for Mankind" and the forth pic as "Perfect Match". A Great Discovery!

Friday 13 July 2007( between morning & noon )

I left early today, happy :-) coz the lab was boring. Although I managed to catch the train by hoping that could reach home soon but....the train broke down half way. The crews took about forty minutes to get everything ok. A forty-minute wait really seemed like a day to me especially while in a train. Disappointedly and boringly, I had snapped some pics while waiting for them to get things done. First pic(upper left): This was the only thing I could see. Second pic (upper right): door was opened for fresh air, third pic: Aiyor...the crews were still there repairing the problem. Friday the 13th really 'chér'...choy!

Friday 13 July 2007 (afternoon)
Once reached Seremban, encountered a big pour...aisey! Waited until the rain stopped, went to a modern 'kopitiam' coz was attracted by the advertisement illustration ( pic above: sotong assam sambal ) and you know what the real thing I got...I got something like the pic below here. Surprise! Look! Eee...?! Where were the squids?? They had swum back to the sea arrh??? Aiyoyooo, I had to struggle quite a number of times just to enable myself to scoop one of those super tiny squids. Compare to the advertisement pic, both were really heaven and hell.

I didn't finish the meal, it was really too lousy:-( thus I went to Mc Donald which was next door and ordered 'happy meal' keke...coz looking for something not too heavy to eat and got a lovely toy....lol. Pic below: the toy I got..keke.

By the way, I had come across something somewhat touching in NST today, the article was about a very young donor and how he had saved 35 lives after his death caused by brain tumour.

Tuesday 10 July 2007
This noon, while in my campus, feeling lazy to walk out to the chinese food stall and thus decided to take my lunch in my own faculty's cafe. Although it was just a very simple malay food but certainly a satisfying one for me :-) Bittergourd, fish and some curry on the rice plus a bit of belacan chilli, em...so yummy! Upper left pic: the fish was very fresh and really nice, upper right pic: my lunchbox :-), bottom: 'belacan tumbuk dengan cili' ( belacan chilli ) which I love.

Saturday 07 July 2007

A truly tired day for me. After a whole-day tiring routine, finally am able to spend some time here, exercising my fingers on the keyboard, good for fingers, do believe me. haha. Already midnight now.. nothing much here..
070707 may be a truly special day for some, but it definitely would just last as three zeros plus three sevens on my mind :-) and I hardly buy '4 ekor' , so numbers remain numbers at last..Nevertheless, 070707 is something not to happen every day thus it can be said as sort of 'once of a lifetime' thing. Mankind always like that. The magic is on the 'once of a lifetime' I guess :-)

Wed 04 July 2007

This morning when I was thinking to look for some information on Yomeishu, during the process I have known that ribena can be mixed with vodka and it is said very nice, what a surprise...before this, my friend told me, he used to drink Yomeishu with ribena, I was a little bit shocked coz never heard of it before. Anyway, he said it is very nice. But I still dare not to try..keke.

So, to kill off my time, the whole morning I was in front of my pc, moving my fingers on the keyboard pretending to be busy...haha. Then accidentally came across someone's blog and coincidentally we both are called Wei Ling. Her blog is neat and lovely which making me wanna make my own blog here. Haha...this is how my blog is born.

By the way, there is something truly magical over here which I wish to share with you...

A rose nebula :-) What do you think, huh?
