I enjoy watching this video clip, it's fun and relaxing! The video is about the behind scenes of the 'Titanic' by James Cameron. In year 1998, when I first went to watch "Titanic", I really had no idea what the movie was all about and I didn't know about the actor and actress at all ( during the early screening, the movie became a hit later ). No famous actor and actress, ahah...so, I was saying to myself, " Better don't put so high expectation on this show". After watching it, frankly I was speechless and I did shed my tears ( pai seh pai seh, keke ). And...later, I started to see all types of comments about "Titanic" everywhere. While in my working place, I heard one of my male colleagues which used to be 'not so romantic' in many people's eyes told my another male colleague, " I am going to watch the movie again with my girlfriend tonight", :-) wow! Just don't underestimate the power of "Titanic", friends! For some who love the movie would say "Wow, I love it, it's so sad and touching..." and while for some who dislike the movie would say that it's childish ( probably referring to the love between Jack and Rose). Come on my dear friends, the time setting is in the 1912, what seems to be childish to us nowadays might not be the same case in 1912.
When the 'Titanic' was as hot as a pancake in the late 90s, there was a group of people who were so eager to compare "Titanic" with "Gone With The Wind" and the result was they preferred the latter due to the reason that the latter has a maturer version of a love story. Well, I probably think both of the movies have their own values. What makes the difference here is the "Gone With The Wind" is a movie made in the late 30s adapted from the 1936 Margaret Mitchell's novel, the plot is surrounding the period of civil war while the "Titanic" is a product of the late 90s written and directed by James Cameron, the plot is surrounding a young couple where both of them are from different social classes who fall in love while they are on the ill-fated RMS Titanic. In other words, both of the movies are not to be compared but to be enjoyed by the audiences who are 'clicked' to them respectively. Perhaps, in a decade later, if there will be a similar successful film like 'Gone With The Wind' and 'Titanic', people will again make the similar comparison.
Anyhow, no matter what the comments from all over the world would be, 'Titanic' did successfully hit the box office is already a fact, won many Oscar awards and was being shown in most of the cinema in Malaysia not for few weeks but a few months. Yeah, a few months! Honestly, I had never seen this situation before. The movie was really a success that we can't deny in spite of that many trying to argue on a few of the weaknesses in the movie such as the nude portrait of Rose which being discovered after many years being kept in a safe box at the bottom of the ocean, the lastingness of the drawing does make many wonder and also the icy hair of Jack and Rose while they are waiting for rescuer as due to some's opinions, based on the sea temperature, it is impossible for Jack and Rose to have icy hair while as for others, many of them just don't bother much on how true are the scientific facts mentioned, as long as they enjoy the movie and when the show ends, their hearts whisper, "Wow, this is worth-watching!".
